Cabin Fever Post 2.0

Just checked out Becke and Alex’s blog www.highdeserthomegarden.blogspot.com after their first time at the farmer’s market. Insanely jealous. Even if I could grow anything in this apartment the cat would destroy it… stupid CJ. AND, I can’t even eat what they’re growing! Or drink what Alex is brewing! They are the only attractive thing tempting me to Santa Fe. Well, them and the scenery.

Been thinking a lot about where we should go next. Also, been thinking a lot about how D.C. actually is pretty cool and we both have pretty stable and successful jobs. PERSPECTIVE. I’m pretty good at always finding something to complain about. I’m trying not to do that as much. BUT, as cool as D.C. is and as nice as our home is and as stupid as our cat is, we’ve got a lot of places to conquer. Not sure where our next stop will be. Any suggestions? With my cabin fever I found a house in Portland, Oregon and a one in Provincetown, Mass. Hahahahahahahaha I can’t afford a house!

Been stretching and sit-uping and sitting and hobbling. Excited about the chance to exercise again. Really terrified I won’t have enough time to recover and train for the Triathlon in July. Really Really terrified. Trying to think positive!

There’s a chance Nick and Alexis may have their baby today! Otto! Being cooped up in this house has led me to almost purchase a copious amount of baby things for him. Luckily, I am quickly reminded that while being home and losing my mind I am NOT at work earning money to pay for said baby things.

Cyndi took me out into the world yesterday and it was marvelous. I almost fell multiple times but at least I almost fell in public instead of in the privacy of my own home. Wait, that doesn’t make any sense.

Auntie D is Down

I wonder if, since everyone seems to agree with me, I’m actually going to lose my mind over the course of this next week. And to think, the doctor told me to stay home for TWO weeks. It has been 36 hours since injuring my poor ol’ foot and I haven’t been outside since Thursday. Hoping tonight I can hobble out on crutches to see Star Trek. It seems my presence at home is only enjoyed when I am not insane and can get up and get things on my own. It makes sense.

SO, since I am home-ridden for the next week there are things that must be done. Stretching and sit-ups, for one. It hurt an especially large amount that I got hurt directly after running for a longer period of time than I ever have and thinking positively about this race in two months. So, if streching and sit-ups are all I can do for the moment, I need to do them with gusto. Read, and finish the Ultimate Grocer short story. Annnnd maybe get a new resume typed up so I have something to leave at National Geographic’s door every day. Also, finally getting started on Whirlybird Lager. I ordered some blank labels so I can draw on each individual bottle. Then drink it all.
